U.S. trade officials spent much of 2021 settling old disputes and resurrecting global alliances, while refusing to engage in new trade deal negotiations or unveil bold new policies. That’s left lingering questions about what a more assertive, forward-looking trade agenda looks like under President Joe Biden. Some of those questions are likely to be answered in the year ahead, but what exactly is to be expected?
