House Agriculture Committee Chairman David Scott and Livestock and Foreign Agriculture Subcommittee Chair Jim Costa issued the following statement on yesterday's announcements regarding the USMCA Dispute on Canadian Dairy Restrictions.

“Yesterday’s announcement from Ambassador Tai regarding the USMCA panel’s siding with the United States is a huge victory for U.S. dairy farmers, exporters and workers,” said Chairman David Scott.

“The Biden-Harris Administration has continued to demonstrate that they are committed to ensuring our trade agreements benefit American workers and farmers; yesterday’s important win is yet another example of that. I look forward to continuing to work alongside President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Ambassador Tai to further ensure our trade agreements are fair and continue to work for American farmers,” Chairman David Scott continued.

"Yesterday was a win for American dairy producers, and I would like to thank Ambassador Tai and the team at USTR for their strong support of our dairy farmers," said Chair Costa. "It is imperative that our trade partners honor trade agreements. This successful settlement process shows the farmers, ranchers, workers, and consumers of this country that we will stand by our commitments to free and fair trade. I urge Ambassador Tai and USTR to continue to defend our standing trade agreements and continue to work with Congress in their efforts to expand trade for America's agriculture sector." Chair Costa added.
