North Carolina State University’s (NCSU’s) Department of Crop and Soil Sciences was awarded an $80,000 grant for a one-year project titled “Addressing Fiber Hemp Production Challenges.” The project is supported as part of the $1 million in agriculture research funds awarded by the 2022 N.C. Bioenergy Research Initiative and the 2022 New and Emerging Crops Program. The grants were awarded to 15 projects focusing on increasing bioenergy opportunities and crop production in North Carolina, according to a North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) press release.
