Source: NCDEQ, 2/4/22 The North Carolina Department
of Environmental Quality’s Division of Mitigation Services (DMS) is developing
the first North Carolina Flood Resiliency Blueprint. The Blueprint is a
statewide watershed planning effort to establish a framework and tools to assist
local communities in decision-making related to reducing flood risk and
increasing resilience. To
inform the scope of the blueprint, DMS invites interested parties, including
vendors, stakeholders, nonprofits, and government entities to provide input by
completing the online Request for Information. Responses
submitted by February 24, 2022 will be considered as the Division develops an
understanding of existing flood resilience activities, capabilities, tools, and
needs and drafts a scope of work for the Blueprint. As
required by Session Law 2021-180, DMS will select an organization to develop the Blueprint and
deliver an initial draft no later than December 31, 2023. More
information on the Flood Resiliency Blueprint is available here: https://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/mitigation-services/flood-resiliency-blueprint
