Pittsburg, Texas-based chicken processor Pilgrim's Pride posted profits during the first two months of its fiscal third quarter, which ends June 27, according to a filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

The company said profit for the two months ended May 23 was $30.7 million — $13.9 million in April and $16.7 million in May. Revenue minus returns and discounts was $1.04 billion.

The news continues a somewhat positive financial trend for Pilgrim's Pride, which filed for bankruptcy protection last December.
