The days are counting down before the coveted and beloved Appalachian plant called ramps disappear for another year. Local foragers, chefs and home cooks are making the most out of the small window of time that they can source the rare ingredient and use them to elevate dishes. Brian Crow, the executive chef at Chestnut, is planning a chef collaborative event to celebrate ramp season.
