North Carolina State University researchers are forecasting a busy Atlantic hurricane season in 2022. The season starts June 1 and runs through Nov. 30. In research published on Wednesday, NC State researchers are forecasting an above-normal season with the possibility of 17 to 21 named storms, seven to nine hurricanes and three to five major hurricanes.
