WHAT: Compliance assistance conferences for labor leaders, staffs

Background: The department’s OLMS District Office for Atlanta-Nashville is conducting online compliance assistance conferences for union leaders and their staffs in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Three specific presentations will be offered, focused on financial recordkeeping, union officer elections practices and financial best practices, and compliance with the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act. The LMRDA promotes union democracy and financial integrity in private sector labor unions through standards for union officer elections and safeguards for union assets.

The sessions will be held on the following dates and times:

Financial Recordkeeping and Electronic Filing System
Tuesday, May 17, 2022        
9-11 a.m. CDT

Union Officer Elections
Tuesday, June 28, 2022        
9-11:30 a.m. CDT

Financial Best Practices
Wednesday, July 13, 2022    
9-10:30 a.m. CDT


Register for any of the online conferences, or send an email to Atlanta-Nashville-CA@dol.gov. Following registration, an emailed link will be sent about four days prior to the conference’s date which attendees must use to enter the presentation. Attendance is free, but pre-registration is necessary as space is limited.
