Here's how rural NC counties can get more high-speed internet coverage

As the world's economy shifted online, the need for high-speed internet coverage accelerated. The pandemic only exacerbated that need. "When school went virtual, there were students who simply disappeared because they had no access to the internet," said Lisa Hone, White House senior advisor for broadband. "Some adults could work home. Others had jobs that would have allowed them to work from home, but without high-speed internet connections, they couldn't do that." Hone was one of several broadband experts and elected officials who spoke at a virtual town hall hosted by Rural Voices USA on Thursday.
