With a recent Gallup poll showing 68% of Americans think marijuana should be legal, a North Carolina fund manager is playing the long game. John Pinto, who heads up cannabis-focused SOJE Capital, sees the marijuana sector as “both a wellness opportunity and as a leisure opportunity.” And – in funneling millions more in recent weeks to funds targeting the emerging sector, according to securities filings – he sees it as a long-term opportunity for returns.
