On April 13, 2022, the FDA hosted a webinar to hear stakeholders’ questions about FDA’s Foodborne Outbreak Response Improvement Plan announced on December 9, 2021. More than 1,700 people registered from 45 countries, and more than 2,200 have watched the webinar video since then.

While the experts involved in creating the plan spent more than 30 minutes responding to questions, there wasn’t enough time in the one-hour webinar to address them all.

Webinar panelists and other FDA experts on food safety have provided answers to additional questions submitted in advance by registrants or posed during the webinar. In addition to general questions, others focus on the specific priority areas identified in the plan: tech-enabled product traceback, root cause investigations, analysis and dissemination of outbreak data, and operational improvements.
