ON FARM HAY STOCKS On farm hay stocks totaled 150,000 tons as of May 1, 2022, down 2% from the 190,000 tons reported the same time last year.

WINTER WHEAT Winter wheat production in North Carolina is expected to total 25.8 million bushels for 2022, down 34% from the 19.3 million bushels produced in 2021. Yield per acre at 67 bushels is up 11 bushels per acre from last year’s estimate of 56.
