Farmers in the Sandhills are hoping for rain sooner than later. The current drought conditions are causing them to lose crops including corn and money. William Gillis is the owner of Gillis Hill Farm in both Cumberland and Robeson counties. He farms about a thousand acres of land between both counties. Gillis expects to lose 50 percent of his corn field to the drought. Leaves on the corn have already turned brown and are still not fully grown.
