Many families in rural North Carolina are struggling to get access to nutritious food while farmers' crops are going to waste, according to the nonprofit Ripe for Revival. The nonprofit pay-what-you-can grocery store takes fresh produce to areas that are in food deserts — like the town of Littleton in Halifax County.
