Mexico and Russia on Thursday took import-protocol actions on several U.S. meat and poultry plants, according to USDA's Food Safety and Inspection, though details were scarce.

Mexico has suspended imports of beef from a Cargill's Friona, Texas, facility, while Russia re-listed John Morrell's Sioux Falls, S.D., pork slaughterhouse and two Cloverleaf Cold Storage facilities in Cherokee, Iowa, and Sioux City, Iowa, respectively.

Russia also lifted a ban on imports of poultry from Butterball LLC's Carthage, Mo., plant.
