Turfgrass Field Day is Aug. 12

Agricultural scientists from North Carolina State University will
discuss the latest research related to growing turfgrass at a Turfgrass Field Day Aug. 12 in Wake County.
 
The field day begins at 7:45 a.m. with registration at N.C. State’s Lake Wheeler Road Turfgrass Field Laboratory, which is on Lake Wheeler Road just south of the Raleigh city limits. Throughout the morning,
researchers from N.C. State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences will give presentations on topics related to growing turfgrass.
 
Presentations are scheduled on the attributes of different types of turfgrass, how best to manage turfgrass and on weed and disease control. The field day ends with lunch. There is a $25 registration fee for
attendance for Turfgrass Council of North Carolina members, while the fee is $30 for non-members. The preregistration deadline is Aug. 5. Registration the day of the event will be an additional $5.

The field day will also include a presentation honoring Dr. Art Bruneau, a long-time N.C. State faculty member who retired recently and whose specialty was turfgrass. In addition to the field day presentation,
