Southeast Extension on-farm trials and research update

The Southeast Extension District is conducting a variety of research trials this year to provide unbiased agricultural research that benefits the region. A brief summary is provided to highlight the research taking place within the grain crops across the district.
• 11 Corn variety demo sites (Agent/Area Specialized Agent led with cooperative volunteer growers, partnered with company brands)
• 10 Bt vs non- Bt corn project locations (Supporting NC State Entomology Program/ Dominic Reisig)
• 6 OFT Soybean Trials investigating the role of foliar fungicides protecting soybean yield (Support of NC State Extension Soybean Program/Rachel Vann and NC Soybean Association)
• 1 Soybean Planting Date, Maturity Group, and Seeding Rate trial in Johnston County (NC State Soybean Extension Program and NC Soybean Producers Association)
• 1 Biological Seed Treatment Trial in Johnston County (NC S
