If farmers want to produce 70 bushels to 80 bushels of soybeans per acre, should they apply more phosphorous and potash to achieve higher yields? For some time now, North Carolina State University and North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services have recommended farmers have a soil index of 50 of phosphorous (P) and potash (K) for soybeans.
