Urban Forestry Conference is Sept. 15-17

The Second Annual North Carolina Urban Forestry Conference will be held Sept. 15-17 at the Marriott Hotel in Winston-Salem. The registration deadline for the conference is Thursday, Sept. 10.
 
The conference will focus on environmental, policy and educational issues related to natural environments in urban areas as well as technical tools and resources needed to assure urban forest quality. It
will include field tours, exhibits and speakers, all with an emphasis on planning and maintaining sustainable green urban environments.
 
The event is designed for professionals whose work involves urban livability and environmental quality as well as arborists and landscapers, economic development councils and neighborhood and downtown
advocacy groups.
 
The conference is sponsored by the North Carolina Urban Forest Council, the Urban and Community Forestry Program of the Division of Forest Resources of the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Forestry and Environmental Outreach Program at North
Carolina State University.
