Poultry group to host women’s leadership conference in October

The U.S. Poultry & Egg Association's Poultry & Egg Institute will host the 2009 Women's Leadership Conference Oct. 22-23 at the Sandestin Hilton in Destin, Fla.

The conference will examine the tools and techniques that enable women to sharpen and apply their leadership and management skills. Topics will include "Leading and Thriving through Change," "A CEO's Perspective of Women in Leadership Roles," "Mentoring Programs in the Workplace" and "Leadership … Inspiring Oneself and Others."

"The seminar will provide a valuable learning experience and an informative outlook on skills and abilities vital for career advancement," said program committee chairperson Sandy Bishop of Perdue Farms Inc. "The program will provide an array of topics to inspire women toward increased leadership and management roles in their companies. Also, this is a great opportunity for women in the industry to interact and learn from one another."
