JBS S.A. plans to open a hamburger plant in Russia next month, the company's director of investor relations, Jerry O'Callaghan, confirmed to Meatingplace.

JBS is investing $119 million in the new plant, which will have an annual processing capacity of 25,000 metric tons of beef, as well as storage capacity of 10,000 tons.

Located near Moscow, the plant will supply nearly 140 McDonald's restaurants across 37 cities in Russia.

Italy-based joint venture Inalca JBS reportedly will manage the plant.
