In the first full edition published since 2005, the Food and Drug Administration announced significant changes to its Food Code, affecting state, city, county, tribal and territorial agencies inspection models,.

Included in the changes are requirements that undercooked ground meats in any form are not to be an option on children's menu items along with a new definition and criteria in the Food Code section for non-continuous cooking of foods comprised of raw animal products in order to address the safety of this cooking method.
