National Beef Inc. said Monday the company has been approved to trade its Class A common stock on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "NBP."

Last week the Kansas City, Mo.-based company announced the initial public offering of 17.25 million shares at an estimated price range of $15 to $17 per share. Underwriters will have a 30-day option to buy up to an additional 2.6 million shares at the IPO price, less the underwriting discount, to cover any over-allotments.

Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse Securities will act as joint book-running managers for this offering. Barclays Capital will act as senior co-manager, and BMO Capital Markets and Stephens Inc. will act as co-managers.
