The North Carolina Association of Soil and Water Conservation’s Community Conservation Committee Working Lands Subcommittee is hosting a round of regional technical training in conjunction with the Conservation Trust for North Carolina.  Funding for the workshop is being provided by a grant obtained from the Tobacco Trust Fund Commission.  The workshops are meant to build off the round of workshops offered in Fall 2008 entitled “Working Land Easement Programs – Is It Right for Your Soil and Water Conservation District?”, and will be similar to the Conservation Easement Track offered at the 2009 District Employee Workshop.

Workshop Goals:

•        Target SWCDs holding or planning to hold working land conservation easements

•        Review Conservation Easement Drafting

•        Review Baseline Documentation Report Drafting

•        Consideration of long term stewardship issues

Logistics:

•        Two day event with class and field portions, recommended to attend both days

•        Evening roundtable discussion on conservation easements for supervisors

•        No registration cost, two lunch meals and small travel stipend to be provided
