USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued FSIS Directive 7120.1, Revision 2: Safe and Suitable Ingredients Used in the Production of Meat, Poultry and Egg Products. The new list has added hypobromous acid and oat fiber as suitable ingredients for certain processes.

Instead of issuing amendments the agency now issues revisions, and so the previous list — issued Feb. 4, 2010 — is cancelled.
