A fire that broke out at Butterball’s turkey processing plant in Kinston, N.C. on Monday has been extinguished, a spokeswoman for Butterball told Meatingplace.

All employees were evacuated without injury, the spokeswoman said.

There was extensive fire damage to the loading dock and smoke and water damage throughout the structure, local WITN-TV quoted Kinston Public Safety official Wood Spencer as saying.

The plant produces bulk and prepackaged sliced turkey products, according to Butterball’s website.
