Poultry processors workshop slated for October

The Annual Poultry Processors Workshop will cover a wide range of current issues for executives in the industry, and is scheduled for October 6 and 7 in northwest Arkansas.


The workshop is co-hosted by the Poultry Federation and the University of Arkansas’ poultry science department. The first day of the conference will be held at the Springdale Holiday Inn, and the second will held at the university’s Center of Excellence for Poultry Science in Fayetteville.


Among the topics on the agenda are traceability, plant floor data collection, performance-based sanitation, the impact of export markets, employee retention and training, and new performance standards for salmonella and campylobacter. Speakers include representatives from Tyson, OK Foods, Simmons Foods, the university and the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association.The workshop also will have a Supplier Showcase.


The conference is $60 for Poultry Federation members, $75 for non-members, $25 for university personnel and students are complimentary. More information is available at the Federation’s website.
