U.S. Poultry & Egg Association and the U.S. Poultry & Egg Harold E. Ford Foundation have approved more than $325,000 in grant money for seven research projects at five institutions.

The research topics range from air velocity to avian flu to wing exercise and vaccines. Each project will receive about the same amount.

The research funding was approved by the boards of both organizations, based on recommendations from the Foundation Research Advisory Committee. The committee evaluates the research proposals to determine their value to the industry.

Since the beginning of its research program, USPOULTRY has granted more than $22 million in funding for research. The International Poultry Expo is the primary source for the funding.
