Russian authorities have approved as eligible exporters 28 U.S. poultry cold storages, according to an update posted Tuesday on USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service website.

FSIS states that poultry originating from these approved establishments and produced on or after Nov. 25, 2010, may be certified for export to Russia.

“Some of them are first-time applicants and the rest are being re-listed due to the July, 2010, bilateral poultry agreement between agencies,” a government source told Meatingplace.
