Dear Friends,

This week, I voted to eliminate unnecessary congressional spending and save $35 million over 10 years!

Current law requires the Government Printing Office to print each bill introduced in Congress. The bill I supported would eliminate the mandatory printing of bills and resolutions and require all bills and resolutions to be made available for the use of Congress only in an electronic format accessible through the Internet.

In this digital age, it is unnecessary to spend money and waste natural resources printing copies of legislation when digital copies can be easily produced and shared on the web. This is one measure that not only eliminates wasteful spending but is environmentally friendly. In this new year and new Congress, I will continue to work across the aisle to reduce the deficit.

Sincerely,

U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre
Representing the 7th District of North Carolina
