USDA posts regulatory agenda

USDA has published in the Federal Register its twice yearly regulatory agenda.
The agency listed the following regulations in the final rule stage:  


Food Safety and Inspection Service
• Performance standards for the production of processed meat and poultry products
• Control of Listeria Monocytogenes in ready-to-eat meat and poultry products
• Federal-state interstate shipment cooperative inspection program
• New formulas for calculating basetime, overtime, holiday, and laboratory services
• Rate changes based on the formulas and increased fees for the accredited laboratory program and
• Changes to the schedule of operations regulations


Agricultural Marketing Service
• National dairy promotion and research program; dairy import assessments
• National Organic Program: amendments to the national list for crops, livestock and processing
Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service
• Importation of poultry and poultry products from regions affected with highly            pathogenic Avian Influenza
• Handling of animals; contingency plans
