Last week U.S. Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) was chosen to serve on two subcommittees within the House Financial Services Committee.  Congressman Jones will serve as Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology, alongside Chairman Ron Paul (TX-14), as well as being a member of the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit.

“We need to get control of our spending and the fiscal state of this country,” said Jones.  “I look forward to ending the bailouts and get our taxpayers back on their feet.”

The Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology will oversee domestic monetary policy and economic stabilization. Currency and defense production also fall under the subcommittee’s jurisdiction.

The Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit will be chaired by Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito and will oversee banks and banking, depository institutions, federal deposit insurance, and safety and soundness.
