The 2011-2012 Session of the North Carolina General Assembly convened last week in Raleigh marking the first time in more than 100 years Republicans had control of both the State House and State Senate.

These newly elected leaders got right down to business,  already making committee assignments for the 2011-12 General Assembly session.  

In the NC House of Representatives, the Agriculture Committee will be co-chaired by Reps. James Langdon (R- Johnson, Sampson) and Efton Sager (R-Wayne) and in the NC Senate, the Agriculture/Environment/Natural Resources Committee will be co-chaired by Sens. Don East (R- Alleghany, Stokes, Surry, Yadkin) and David Rouzer (R-Johnston, Wayne).
