As most of you are aware, effective December 1, 2010, EPA will require the following relative to use of soil fumigants: Certified applicators must complete site specific fumigant management plans for each product being used. Within 30 days of completing the application portion of the fumigation process, the certified applicator supervising the application must complete a post-fumigation application summary that describes any deviations from the FMP that have occurred, measurements taken to comply with GAPs as well as any complaints and/or incidents that have been reported to him/her. To help applicators get a better understanding of the fumigant management plans and post-fumigation application summary, there will be a training session held on March 24, 2011 at 5:30 pm at the Caswell County Senior Center, located at 649 Fire Tower Road, Yanceyville,NC. Industry representatives will be on hand to discuss the plan details for their specific product(s) and will demonstrate how the plans should be completed. There will be a meal served before the meeting, so please call the Caswell Extension Center at (336) 694-4158 to register.

Also, there will be two hours of pesticide credit available for classes N,O,D, and X. It is recommended that you bring a copy of the blank plan for the product you apply so that you may complete it as that particular product is discussed.
