AT&T and T-Mobile company officials expect that the combination of the two companies will expand wireless and data service for Eastern North Carolina customers, and others throughout the country. AT&T entered into an agreement on Sunday, under which it will purchase Deutsche Telekom’s T-Mobile USA subsidiary for a total of $39 billion in cash and common stock.
