Bill targets oversight of county agencies, commissioners could oust board members

It’s time to “clean out the cobwebs” in area boards and commissions, state Rep. Danny McComas said Wednesday. The Republican state representative filed a bill in the state House this week that would aim to hold the New Hanover County Commissioners accountable for the authorities, boards, committees and commissions they appoint or that receive county dollars.
