Government shutdown would close offices in Carolinas

If the federal government shuts down at midnight Friday, the Social Security office in east Charlotte closes, the Small Business Administration in south Charlotte stops processing loan applications, and the federal courthouse uptown has only enough money to operate at full staff for 10 days.
