BASF awaiting EPA approval for new fungicide

Farmers are accustomed to hearing news that a pesticide or fungicide may be coming off the market. Replacements for these lost products seem to be few and far between. But BASF Crop Protection USA, with headquarters in Research Triangle Park, N.C., has a new active ingredient known as Xemium in its pipeline, which the company hopes and expects to be approved soon by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
