Thousands of local Aqua water customers are facing sharp increases in their utility bills this year.
Cary-based Aqua North Carolina Inc., which operates in 48 counties and serves some 60 neighborhoods in Cumberland County, is seeking to raise its water rates by more than 20 percent.
