Advisory committee for farmland preservation trust fund will meet May 3 in Raleigh

The Agricultural Development and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund Advisory Committee will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at the Eaddy Agronomic Building, 4300 Reedy Creek Road. The meeting is open to the public.


The committee will hear recommendations from staff of the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services about projects to fund this year. Members also will receive updates on previously funded projects.
The ADFP Trust Fund Advisory Committee advises Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler on the prioritization and allocation of money from the trust fund, program planning, and other areas for the growth and development of family farms in North Carolina. Members include farmers and representatives of agricultural organizations, state agencies and universities. More information is available at www.ncadfp.org.
