The Got to Be NC Festival will kick off in just a few weeks and there is still room for more antique tractors and farm equipment.

The festival’s equipment exhibit is one of the largest displays of antique farm equipment in the Southeast, with more than 1,000 pieces of equipment displayed last year. However, the State Fairgrounds can hold more, says Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler, who encourages all antique farm equipment enthusiasts to join in the fun atmosphere of the festival.

“The three-day event is a great time to fellowship with other collectors, talk to festival-goers and celebrate North Carolina’s agricultural heritage,” Troxler said. “One of the highlights of each day is the tractor parade, when all running tractors drive through the fairgrounds. It’s a great sight to see.”

While there is plenty of space left for tractors, there are just a few spaces left in the Bluegrass Band Competition. Amateur bluegrass bands playing traditional or contemporary bluegrass are invited to compete for cash prizes. The competition will be held on Saturday, May 21, beginning at 11 a.m. on the Triangle Stage.

And there is space for anyone who wants to stay overnight at the fairgrounds, too. There are 350 full-service spaces with RV hookups and Wi-Fi for $25 a night.
