The May 11 World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report will present USDA’s initial assessment of domestic and foreign crop supply and demand, and U.S. price prospects for the 2011/12 marketing year. It will also present calendar-year 2012 projections for U.S. livestock, poultry, and dairy products.

The May report also will introduce the following changes:

• The Soybean Oil Supply and Use table (page 15) will include a separate breakout for “Food, feed, and other” industrial use.

• WASDE reliability tables (pages 35-37) will show the “root mean square error” for each selected commodity and parameter.

Information on how the WASDE report is prepared can be found at: www.usda.gov/oce/commodity/wasde/.
