Got to Be NC Festival will feature classic cars, Harley-Davidsons and roller derby

Classic cars will shine, Harleys will growl and roller derby teams will rumble during the Got to Be NC Festival, May 20-22 at the State Fairgrounds.


Cars from a variety of eras and styles will be displayed in Dorton Arena from 3-8 p.m. Friday.
Harley-Davidson motorcycles will parade through the fairgrounds Saturday at 1 p.m. They will be parked along the fence at the Grandstand throughout the afternoon. The Harley parade is sponsored by Ray Price Harley-Davidson.


Carolina Rollergirls will present the “Got to Be NC” Derby Expo on Saturday in Dorton Arena. Five roller derby teams will battle one another throughout the day. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and games will take place at noon, 2, 4, 6 and 8 p.m. Admission for all five games is $5. Tickets are available online at www.carolinarollergirls.com, and they will be for sale at the Dorton Arena box office the day of the event.


The Got to Be NC Festival is presented by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Hours are 9 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday. Other attractions include a carnival, a Food and Wine Expo, live music, children’s activities and more than 1,000 pieces of antique farm equipment. Festival admission and parking are free.
