As most North Carolinians know, agriculture is still the state’s No. 1 industry. In 2009, various forms of agribusiness generated more than $9 billion in cash receipts with livestock, dairy, and poultry accounting for more than 62 percent of the revenue. Crops of a varied nature make up the other 38 percent.
