A federal court jury ruled late last week that Tyson Foods Inc. does not have to compensate workers at its Lexington, Neb., plant for time spent donning and doffing safety gear before and after work, according to a report by the Lincoln Journal-Star.

The workers argued they should be paid for the time it takes to prepare for work on the production line and to perform post-production tasks, but the jury disagreed, the report said.

Tyson still faces similar lawsuits filed by workers at its plants in the Nebraska towns of Dakota City and Madison.
