FDR was right about (food) fear

When Franklin Delano Roosevelt became America’s 32nd president in 1933, he famously rallied his countrymen to sanity by assuring them that “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzed needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.” Seventy-eight years later, "nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror" neatly summarizes our food-fear environment.
