California hybrids may make best N.C. asparagus

When Carl Cantaluppi, an area horticulture agent with the N.C. Cooperative Extension in Granville and Person counties, came to North Carolina in 1994 he brought his love of asparagus with him. He now has multiple year research trials of asparagus varieties in Person County and may be on his way to concluding a relatively new California hybrid may be the best performing asparagus variety for this area.
