Nearing the close of their regular session, state legislators evidently had second thoughts about damage they'd done to a first-rate historical attraction. Although they'd earlier made crippling cuts in state support for New Bern's Tryon Palace complex, legislators subsequently approved a technical corrections bill that restored $500,000.
