USDA reports slight drop in U.S. crop, pasture conditions

USDA reported that 68 percent of the U.S. corn crop was in good or excellent condition in the week ended June 26, compared to 70 percent the previous week and 75 percent a year ago at this time.


In its weekly Crop Progress report, USDA rated 9 percent of the corn crop in poor or very poor condition, compared to 7 percent the previous week and 6 percent at this time last year.


Soybeans

USDA rated 65 percent of the U.S. soybean crop in good or excellent condition, compared to 68 percent the previous week and 67 percent at this time last year.


Eight percent of the U.S. soybean crop was rated poor or very poor, compared to 6 percent the previous week and 9 percent at this time last year.


Pastures
USDA rated 26 percent of U.S. pastures in poor or very poor condition, compared to 25 percent a week ago and 10 percent a year ago.


In Texas, 83 percent of pastures were rated poor or very poor and in Oklahoma 52 percent were rated poor or very poor.
