The Poultry Federation named Jerry Moye, president of Cobb-Vantress and a member of the National Chicken Council board of directors, its 2011 Industry Leader of the Year.

Moye was honored during the federation’s 52nd Annual Poultry Festival held recently in Rogers, Ark.
This recognition, formerly titled “Man of the Year,” has been awarded since 1955 and recognizes the outstanding achievements of poultry and egg executives and their contribution to the industry, according to the NCC.

Moye has been in the poultry industry for over 30 years. He began with Cobb-Vantress as director of technical services and subsequently became general manager, vice president, senior vice president and now president.

Before joining Cobb-Vantress, he spent 16 years in integrated chicken production as a live production manager for two large U.S. integrators.

He served as the chairman of the board from 2008-2010 and is one of the few directors who served two consecutive years as chairman at The Poultry Federation.

The Poultry Federation is a tri-state trade organization representing the poultry and egg industries in Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
